Garvald Edinburgh is a registered charity which has been supporting adults with learning disabilities in the Edinburgh area since 1969.

Our work is inspired by the ideas of Rudolf Steiner and we are committed to an approach which recognizes the uniqueness of each person and their hopes, aspirations and contributions.

The warm, friendly environment we build together enables people with varying needs to feel valued and supported to interact, make friends, develop new skills and express their creativity.

The organisation’s main source of income is support fees. However, this is not the whole story. Making and selling the wonderful crafted items made by our members and staff working together brings in a significant, and important, part of our running costs. 100% of the income from sales goes to Garvald Edinburgh. Through this way of working everyone who comes to Garvald is helping to contribute to the sustainability of the organisation.
